Duncan Crary

Duncan Crary is a publicity, communications and events consultant with more than 20 years of professional public relations experience.

He has placed positive stories about his employers, clients and personal projects in the largest and smallest media outlets around the world.

He has previously worked as a news reporter for The Saratogian, Spotlight Newspapers, and Mohawk Valley Heritage Magazine.

Duncan was a podcaster in the early days of that broadcast medium, and has produced three critically-acclaimed shows: A Small American City, Humanist Network News, and The KunstlerCast, a weekly podcast with noted social commentator James Howard Kunstler. Duncan is also the author of The KunstlerCast: Conversations with James Howard Kunstler...the tragic comedy of suburban sprawl (New Society Publishers, Nov. 2011).

He has been called “Troy’s other mayor” (Michael DeMasi, Albany Business Review), a “publicity artist” (Jimmy Vielkind, Capital New York/Politico), and "a gregarious public-relations consultant, history buff and Troy tub-thumper" (Joanne Kaufman, Wall Street Journal).

Known for orchestrating charming public spectacles, Duncan is the co-creator of The Trial Before Christmas, a juried holiday mock trial to determine who really wrote the poem "A Visit From Saint Nicholas," first published anonymously in Troy, NY.

He is the founder of The League of Extraordinary Red Heads, which was profiled in The New Yorker magazine in 2019.

 

Molly Eadie

Molly Eadie is a writer and social media specialist with more than 10 years experience in the news and communications industries. She began working with DCC in 2020.

Molly graduated in 2013 from SUNY Albany, where she double-majored in Documentary Studies and Journalism, and served as editor-in-chief, managing editor and web editor for the Albany Student Press. She was a regular contributing writer, photographer and assistant editor for Metroland alternative newsweekly, a staff reporter at the Ballston Journal, Troy Record and Saratogian newspapers, and has written for the Times Union and 518Life Magazine.

She has also worked as an English language tutor in Vietnam and online, working with students of all ages from more than 30 countries.

Molly is originally from Le Roy, New York, the birthplace of Jell-O, and briefly worked as a tour guide at the Jell-O Gallery. She co-created and co-hosts Honky Tonk Bingo, a monthly celebration of classic country music in Troy, NY.

 

Ben Karis

Ben Karis is an illustrator, designer, and songwriter from the New York Capital Region with 20+ years’ experience in the arts.

A graduate of the Anthropology and Fine Arts programs at SUNY Albany, Ben currently serves as the head of Graphic Design at the New York State Museum. His freelance work has focused primarily on advocating for the arts and communicating ideas in science and sustainability, collaborating with clients such as Catskill Mountainkeeper, New York State Parks, Modern Farmer Magazine, and the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.

Ben is also the creator of the local character/brand, TroyBot (a humanoid robot that transforms from Troy NY’s Green Island Bridge) that has been featured in murals, publicity campaigns, poster art, and clothing designs. As a songwriter, Ben’s bands and touring adventures have been featured on syndicated television and radio such the CW’s One Tree Hill and NPR’s Weekend Edition.
